the story

I found this beauty collecting dust on the Mandarake normal sale pages. Just sitting there…probably for years and at the most wonderful price ever.

The scene is quite strong.

Prince Jil is being told by both his mother the Queen and the high minister that, because his father died by his hands, he now holds the responsibility of leading the Paro army in the war against Itha.

Of course, this leaves him in quite the predicament as this betrays the promise he made to his secret lover, Ahnas, princess of Itha, to never take up arms against her country.

I tried to copy the background as best as I could, and I was happily surprised when this cel came in to find it not only had the matching douga but was a key cel as well.

This image was also used on the official movie poster.
